Cafe Charlot

If you happen to be in the neighborhood, because there are many cute shops to be found in the streets around the cafe, this is a really nice and typically French bistro with good food. I used to have lunch there many times during my internship. A true bobo place to see and be seen. This can also be noticed by the higher prices. I happen to have walked into the Sartorialist here one day, unfortunately I was to shy to ask him for a picture…

Sir Winston

One of the oldest English pubs in Paris where I was taken one night by one of Paris’ inhabitants with good taste. The cocktails are great and the ambiance is very relaxing with big chesterfield chairs, subtle lighting and launch booths. Next to just drinks, food and snack can be enjoyed.

Not every night is suitable to visit the Winston because it can be very quite.

Dôme des Invalides

You never get tired of being an extreme tourist in Paris even when living there. Paris is a city of endless cultural options. When I decided to visit the musée Rodin, it was a small step to cross the street and pay a visit to the Dôme des Invalides, the tomb of Napoleon. With the entrance ticket you can also visit the other museums related to the military history of France but I decided to make a quick tour around the tomb which is very impressive by itself. Napoleon’s wish was to be buried at the banks of the Seine and modesty was completely ignored to honor his wish; lots of gold, ornaments and large statutes remind you of the decadence of the past. I was truly blown away by the size of just the tomb.

Vogue Nederland

The 22nd of March can be seen as an historic moment in the Dutch magazine industry as the first issue of the iconic fashion magazine Vogue, appeared on the Dutch market. The Dutch Vogue is a fact! Many elements of our capital city Amsterdam, like a girl on a bike, canals, canal cruises, can be recognized throughout the magazine.

See the website for more information and videos about the launch and a backstage video of the creation of the first issue http://www.vogue.nl/

Musée Rodin

Even though I am not a big fan of sculptures I was positively surprised by musée Rodin. Not only the works of art are worth a visit, as you can expect from Rodin, but it is a nice experience an outside museum. The standard collection can be enjoyed outside the museum’s lovely garden. Inside interesting temporary exhibitions can be viewed.

From the garden you have a clear view of the Dome des Invalides, here you can visit Napolean’s tomb. So when you have the time to pass by this impressive tribute to Napoleon, take a minute to just take a look.

Père Lachaise

If you feel nostalgic and caught a sunny day in Paris, the famous cemetery Père Lachaise is a true delight to stroll around. It feels like a little trip back in time when passing graves of Oscar Wilde, Proust, Edith Piaf to name a few. It is a perfect place to escape the city chaos while surrounded by impressive names in French history.

It is advisable to get a map at the little buildings at the entrances in order to find your way around.
